Amendoeira hosts Algarve’s best young golfers ahead of 9th Oceanico World Kids Golf championship

As preparations continue for the 9th Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship, Portuguese Golf Federation officials joined local school kids at Amendoeira for theCircuito Drive Challengeand the FPG Chipand Putt Regional Qualifier

Amendoeira Golf Resort welcomed representatives from the Portuguese Golf Federation for the Circuito Drive Challenge and the FPG Chip and Putt Regional Qualifier. The best young golfers from schools in the surrounding Algarve area competed in the exciting format as winners progress to the national finals.

The event reaffirmed Amendoeira’s growing significance to junior golf and showcased the venue spectacularly ahead of the 9th Oceanico World Kids Golf Championship.

David Moura from the Portuguese Federation remarked: “It was great to spend some time with the kids at Amendoeira. The resort laid on some fun activities and an exciting competition. The courses and facilities look absolutely fantastic and I’m sure they will prove to be a great hostfor the Oceanico World Kids Golf Championship in July.”

The award-winning resort will host the 9th edition of its Oceanico World  Kids Golf Championship over the renowned Faldo and O’Connor Jnr courses from 24 – 28 July 2017, as it strengthens its commitment to inspire young golfers from around the globe. The event has generated a lot of interest with entries from across the globe and, with just a few weeks left to enter, those with young ones interested in participating are being urged to book now.

In-line with Amendoeira’s support of junior golf and development, the resort runs two-hour junior clinics every Saturday along with Saturday club competitions played over both championship courses.
