Temporary photo exhibition "Manoel's Jazz" in Portimão

Just 23 minutes away from Amendoeira Golf Resort, in Portimão, you will find, besides the well-known Praia da Rocha, the temporary photographic exhibition "Manoel's Jazz", which illustrates the passion for music of the artist Manuel Guerreiro (1932-2005). With recreations of his musical career through photographs, posters and replicas of objects and stages once trodden, this tribute to the artist can be visited at Portimão Museum until 3rd September - but the best thing is to take the opportunity to visit it already in August.

Sardine Festival in Portimão

As far as gastronomy in the Algarve is concerned, Portimão is also home to the Sardine Festival. Here, besides tasting a fish so characteristic of the region, you will also find handicraft stalls, traditional sweets and concerts with national artists, namely:

  • Carlão, on August 1st;
  • Áurea, on August 2nd;
  • André Sardet, on August 3rd;
  • Virgul, on August 4th;
  • Cuca Roseta, on August 5th;
  • And Tony Carreira on August 6th.

Furthermore, on the first day of the festival, you will learn how the unloading of sardines is done, through a historical reconstruction.
