The Algarve, with its mild climate, world-class golf courses and stunning landscapes, is a paradise for golf enthusiasts. However, choosing the best month to play can make all the difference to your experience. Explore with us the best times to play golf in this little paradise.

Spring is one of the best seasons to play golf in the Algarve. The courses are lush and blooming, creating the perfect backdrop to accompany your shots. Temperatures are mild and pleasant, ideal for spending long hours on the course.

March

In March, the golf courses are full of golfers, so it's advisable to book in advance. Playing conditions in these months are excellent due to the low chance of rain and mild weather. On the other hand, there are also exclusive Easter offers (and Amendoeira Golf Resort is no exception: find out more here!).

April

If March is the high season, April is the busiest time on the course. With special offers and mild days of around 20ºC, all the conditions are in place for perfect golfing days.

May

Following April's sunshine, May brings even warmer days. With an average temperature rising to 23.1ºC, green fees also increase, making it essential to book your round as early as possible.

In the summer, the Algarve receives its biggest tourist influxes, but golf courses become more vacant as temperatures rise and beaches or swimming pools become more popular with visitors to the region.

June

In June, temperatures are still tolerable, hovering around 26ºC, so you can try your luck. This month at Amendoeira Golf Resort is usually marked by the arrival of buggy promotions, included in the summer offers.

July and August

In the middle of summer, these are the hottest months in the Algarve, with temperatures hovering around 30ºC. For this reason, if you want to play golf, choose the morning or late afternoon periods so that you can enjoy your round with maximum quality. For these months, the best suggestion is to enjoy the resort's swimming pools and sunbathe on the terraces of our family villas.

Autumn, meanwhile, is an excellent time to play golf in the Algarve. The temperatures are still pleasant, the courses are well-kept and there are fewer tourists, which means you can enjoy a more peaceful and relaxing experience. This is also the season for golf tournaments, although the famous World Kids Golf 2024 tournament takes place in July!

September

With sunny and cooler days, around 26ºC, golf resorts in the Algarve start to offer more competitive rates, making it one of the ideal times to improve your handicap.

October

The mild temperatures have officially arrived with average values of 23ºC, kicking off the Algarve's high golf season. From this month onwards, the courses start to get busier, so don't forget to book your tee times in good time.

November

In November, green fees drop, but the sunny days in the Algarve continue - now in the company of temperatures around 19ºC.

Surprisingly, winter can also be a good time to play golf in the Algarve. Despite being the coldest season, temperatures are still mild compared to other parts of Europe. What's more, the courses are less crowded, allowing you to enjoy a quieter, more contemplative round.

December

Despite having more periods dedicated to course maintenance, playing golf in December is synonymous with silence and tranquillity, perfect for enjoying the sounds of nature. With days of 16ºC, wrap up warm and prepare your shots!

January and February

After celebrating New Year's Eve in the Algarve, there's nothing better than playing during the low golf season, where the shorter (and colder) days are perfect for the floodlit Academy course.

The Algarve offers ideal conditions for golf all year round. Whether it's spring, autumn, winter or even summer, there's always a good time to take up the sport. Grab your clubs, book a round and get ready for an unforgettable experience on the Algarve's golf courses.
