Living in the Algarve is living in paradise. Combining the offer that our golf resort in Portugal has for you with all the beauty of the Algarve region, there are several unique experiences you can enjoy in the south of Portugal. Among sunny days and stunning landscapes, here you will find some of the best golf courses in the world, surrounded by nature, and rich biodiversity, characteristic of the region.

Armação de Pêra Municipal Market

At the Armação de Pêra Municipal Market, you can find a wide variety of typical regional fruit and vegetables. Newer than Olhão Market and Loulé Market, this market is busy every Saturday morning until 1.30 pm.

Here you can find a variety of local and seasonal products, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, aromatic herbs, fresh fish, honey, jams, and flowers. However, what stands out most is the variety of dried fruits, namely almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, apricots, dates, sultanas, and the typical Algarve fig. In terms of gastronomic delicacies, let's not forget the 'Queijo do Algarve' (in English, Algarve cheese) which, despite its name, is a sweet made of dried figs, often accompanied by the famous medronho (a local spirit made from a strawberry tree).

Silves Castle

After a breakfast overlooking our golf courses, what about a walk through Silves Castle to discover what the town has to show?

This castle is one of the most remarkable works of military architecture left by the Arab people and is over 1000 years old. Located at the highest point of the town, you can still find a statue of King D. Sancho I, the monarch who, in 1189, conquered the town from the Arabs.

Inside the castle is the Cisterna dos Cães, a 40-meter deep well from which various fragments of medieval ceramics were removed for archaeological work. There are also other surprises, but these you will only be able to discover during your visit.

Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição and Chapel of Bones

Alcantarilha is a small area with a lot to discover. Only 2 minutes from the center, you will find the Chapel of Bones, attached to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição.

This church, declared of Public Interest by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage, is one of the main monuments of the parish. The chapel, inspired by the architectural line of other chapels in the country, such as those in Évora, Faro, and Lagos, has an interior lined with over 1500 human bones of Jesuit friars from the 16th century, according to popular myth.

Armação de Pêra and Praia Grande Beaches

More than 300 days of sunshine a year feel better when accompanied by the crystal clear waters of the Algarve's beaches. Close to the Amendoeira Golf Resort, you will find the beaches of Armação de Pêra and Praia Grande, marked by their long sandy shores and clear waters, very popular with families.

Armação de Pêra beach is recognizable by its cliff over the coastline, the eastern side of which is occupied by several traditional fishing boats. To the west is also a small lagoon, with different types of vegetation and water birds. This is a beach recognized by the Blue Flag and adapted to people with reduced mobility, also having the "Accessible Beach" flag.

Praia Grande stretches for more than 2 kilometers of open landscape, with a calm sea, recommended for children for its safety. It is also possible to walk along the beach and get to know several agricultural fields, the natural habitat of numerous species.
