Amendoeira to offer World Kids Golf Championship Winner the chance to go on tour

Winner of the World Kids Championship 2018 to receive an entry to play in an event on the Portugal Pro Golf Tour

With under a week until entries close for the 2018 World Kids Golf Championship (WKG), Amendoeira has announced a partnership with the Portugal Pro Golf Tour, which will see the winner of the U18 category play in an event of their choice on the Algarve's premier golf Tour.

The Portugal Pro Golf Tour, a member-only Tour, runs from January to April each year and offers the next generation of professionals competitive experience to prepare for the season ahead on some of Europe's more prominent Tours. Last year's participants included Walker Cupper David Boote, and European Tour member Max Orrin.

José Correia, President of the Portugal Pro Golf Tour said: "We're very proud to be able to offer the winner of WKG a spot at one of our events – it'll no doubt be an unforgettable experience but will also help them develop greatly as a golfer. We hope the exemption will provide even more incentive to win one of Europe's premier golf events."

With some of the best junior golfers across Europe already entered into the field, competition will be fierce for the coveted exemption. The Under 18 sections will also vie for prestigious R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking points.

With over 100 junior golfers already registered across all age groups, WKG has partnered with Titleist, the #1 Ball in Golf, to ensure all age-groups will be competing for prizes of market leading golf gear.

At WKG, not only the winners enjoy star treatment. Amendoeira truly values the family aspect of junior golf and want parents to enjoy the week as much as the kids. Every entrant and their families will receive an invitation to all the WKG 10th Anniversary celebrations, including the 10th Birthday Party and the second Parent-Child Par 3 contest – where parents and children compete together in a scramble format under the floodlights of Amendoeira's Academy course. Furthermore, parents are encouraged to caddy for their children.

Chris Howell of Amendoeira Golf Resort said: "Preparations are nearly complete for this year's World Kids Golf championship, and to add Portugal Pro Golf Tour to our list of partners means a lot. We value our role in shaping junior golfers by laying on WKG every year, but to give a junior golfer their first professional start is even more special. It will be an experience they will always remember, no matter where their golf career takes them."
